UniTrap is a magnetic separator developed by researchers at Palacký University Olomouc. UniTrap is a device which enables fast and simple separation of magnetic particles.
Accurate magnetic placement results in fast and high yield separation of magnetic particles and their concentration in one specific spot. That enables easier manipulation of a pipette inside a tube containing magnetic particles dispersed in liquid. UniTrap is designed for use with multichannel pipettes and this significantly speeds up the procedure. It is possible to work with up to 24 tubes simultaneously. Different variations of UniTrap enable the use of tubes with nominal volumes from 0.2 ml up to 50 ml.
UniTrap, a a modular separator of magnetic particles, is designed for tubes with nominal volumes of 0.2 ml, 0.5 ml, 0.6 ml, 1.5 ml and 2 ml. Removable plates enable the use of a universal base for the separation of magnetic particles in different sized tubes. Moreover, it is possible use 2 different plates simultaneously and therefore carry out separation in 2 different sized tubes. The spacing of tubes is designed for use with multichannel pipettes. The removal and exchange of plates is optimized for simple use. The nonslip surface allows for the use of UniTrap on any laboratory table.
